Body in the present and head in the future, or is it the past? When it is connected in events from before, in an internal and endless conversation of what once was, the body in this context, forgotten, in an almost automatic way, responds with slowness, laziness, in a rhythm not very animated for anything. It shrinks, without much desire to move forward, because it receives the clear message that it is not ready to move on, because it belongs to something that is back there (which in reality no longer exists, but is relived to exhaustion in the thoughts).

Now if the scenario is the other way around, of a mind that lives in a projected future (which can be catastrophic many times), with an internal conversation that deals with “a thousand subjects” at the same time (in the “eternal rush” without leaving the place), the body gets tired as if it had run many marathons, because there is too much tension involved in this super accelerated scenario. Besides not receiving attention, because the mind consumes almost all the available energy, the body has to be always ready to solve the “problems” projected by the anxious and not always positive future.

And the golden question is: how to live in presence and truly savor the present, that is, each moment with intensity and fullness? A good start is to realize where you are. Past or future? And to ask yourself in a frank and direct way Why am I there ? If in the past, is it fear of facing life? Do I feel unfit? If in the catastrophic future, ask yourself: Why do I project this reality and believe in it?

The questions are a beautiful first step to stop, to become aware, to start the movement of seeking answers and also to breathe! What a beautiful tool to pay attention to your breathing and come back to the present, having already been in it for a long time (haha).

Another small but huge step is to pay attention to yourself throughout a certain activity, practiced throughout the day. What do I think? What do I feel? Why do I see things this way? Why such a hurry? The questions are launched, the breathing takes place, the answers start to come in a proper flow and not all at once (so, patience lol), and the presence starts to be really lived! and the magic of the connection with yourself starts to happen! And you who didn’t participate in the conversation, now become part of it and interact J)

Necessary repairs

Old or futuristic thinking connects only with the external (facts and people) and the internal is left to the background. It is not always comfortable to look inside, because sometimes we realize that there is a lot of work to be done.

Just like an unmaintained house, repairs are needed so that this home will have beautiful colors and be full of flowers, in a beautiful and living present. Like any “good work”, it asks for our patience, because setbacks can arise that delay the “delivery schedule” (haha). But since the focus is on a cozy home, filled with light and love, it is well worth the investment (which is in self-compassion, self-care, generosity, and affection for oneself).

I invite you to take a first step towards your presence in the here and now, starting your beautiful inner “work”, always remembering that everything in life is construction. Grab the possibility to awake a new look and with it also other thoughts, different mentalities, to take possession of what is really yours: the PRESENT! Let’s go ?
