Trust. A short word, but with a giant meaning. To hand over (to someone or something) the responsibility for a job, a mission, or even an event. But Dani, who would this something or someone be that you comment? And the answer is: Life. It has its own dynamics that are not always easy to understand. We are eternal learners being tested all the time, and the final objective of these dynamics is only one: our evolution. And who said that growing up doesn’t hurt, right?
We are not always awake and aware of this dynamic of life itself. We can’t see that everything has a purpose. Since things often don’t make sense (there is no direction and feeling is confused), we struggle, get tired, cling to the ego, want to guess the next events (as if it were possible lol), we even cry, in a Homeric effort to feel that we are in control of everything. This illusion that we are in control, while comforting on the one hand, weighs tons on the other.
And then the body speaks. Stiff neck, tense shoulders, heavy calves, sore back, shortness of breath, total alertness, and a thousand thoughts. It sounds like the description of warriors waiting for the battle to begin in 3,2,1 ! After all, we are in “control of everything” and carry all the weight, right?
What if we tried loosening this (illusory) “control”? To let go, we need that magic word that begins the text: con-fi-ar. But Dani, it is very difficult! How can I achieve this? And my answer is: In an act of courage, dive deep and connect body, mind and soul in this very dynamic of life, so that you can see with clarity every detail, every action, every connection and disconnection, every event, which automatically generates something precious that is the understanding (or also called “falling into place”). It gives meaning to our journey and makes us feel very good, as well as moves us to flow in favor of life and no longer against it, on that basis of control, tension and weight that I mentioned.
If I trust, more than letting go, I surrender my existence to the dynamics of life and start dialoguing with everything that happens. I can better evaluate each situation that arises, what I am attracting to my life. I leave the role of victim of the events, I start to gain autonomy. I start to be connected with the whole and feel what I have to do in order to grow, in which direction I have to go, how I can serve the world, and I start to talk to life and ask: “What do you want from me at this moment? Please can you guide me in a didactic way (lol)?”
And the didactic answers “magically” begin to come, because we knew how to communicate aloud what we wanted and are attentive (and thirsty) for guidance. This whole movement gives us lightness.
And if we gain lightness, more than flying, we overcome a super villain that puts us in automatic mode, that prevents us from connecting to the dynamics of life itself, which is haste, popularly known as anxiety. It is one thing to visualize what we want in order to take action and make our plans come true. It is another thing to project what we want, but wrapped up in hurried, accelerated, often tragic scenarios that take us far away from the here and now, create a parallel reality and totally prevent this genuine connection with life.
Are you ready to trust, surrender, and let go, in a deep dive of body, mind, and soul into the dynamics of life itself? Ah, and life has just sent a little message: “Take the first step, I am here for you and to you. Don’t be afraid, because he who trusts, rests.”
